Fetterman Statement on Mullin Committee Vote

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs will vote to advance the confirmation of U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) to be Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) released the following statement:

“In January, I called on the president to fire Noem—and he did.

“I truly approached the confirmation of my colleague and friend, Senator Mullin, with an open-mind.

“We need a leader at DHS.

“We must reopen DHS.

“My AYE is rooted in a strong committed, constructive working relationship with Senator Mullin for our nation’s security.”
