Fetterman Statement on Senate Vote on School Nutrition Program Congressional Review Act Resolution

WASHINGTON, DC – Pennsylvania U.S. Senator John Fetterman released the following statement on today’s failed Senate vote on the School Nutrition Program Congressional Review Act Resolution offered by Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS), that would have overturned recent guidance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to prevent discrimination against LGBTQ+ students in school nutrition programs:

“The government shuts down in 22 days. I’m astonished we wasted our time with this today.

“If the god you pray to thinks a gay child should not get a school lunch, you really, really, really need to shop around for a better religion.”
