Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) seeks a Legislative Aide as a member of his personal office staff to cover a broad portfolio including agriculture, nutrition, budget, Appropriations, and other issues. Primary duties include providing top-notch constituent correspondence managed via Intranet Quorum (IQ), supporting senior legislative staff within the portfolio, scheduling and staffing constituent meetings, conducting legislative research, and writing public-facing letters and briefing memos. This individual will report to the legislative director and will support two Senior Policy Advisors. Qualified candidates should have at least basic knowledge of the portfolio’s issues, strong organizational skills, and superior verbal and written communication skills.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate ability to engage with a diverse array of stakeholders and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be a team player who is motivated to deliver for Pennsylvanians and should have an opinion as to whether Sheetz or Wawa is superior. Prior Hill or administration experience is preferred, and Pennsylvania ties are strongly welcomed, but not required. The annual salary for this position is $65,000.

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) seeks a well-qualified speechwriter to serve in his personal office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to drafting releases, speeches, op-eds, talking points, and other written materials as needed. An ideal candidate must be flexible, dependable, organized, proactive, and possess a working knowledge of issues facing Congress, as well as strong oral and written communication skills, a proven ability to write quickly in a principal’s voice, and a talent for creatively researching and describing complex issues. The ideal candidate should also have speechwriting experience, a collaborative approach to writing, and work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.

 

A successful candidate will be a team player who is motivated to deliver for Pennsylvanians and should have an opinion as to whether Sheetz or Wawa is superior. Prior Hill or administration experience is preferred, and Pennsylvania ties are strongly welcomed, but not required. This is not an entry level position, and the annual salary is $75,000.

An internship with Senator Fetterman’s office will provide students with an opportunity to gain firsthand experience and knowledge of the United States Senate.

Internships with Senator Fetterman’s office are paid unless in conflict with degree requirements, outside stipends, or other unique circumstances. Senator Fetterman is deeply committed to shaping an office full of experiences, perspectives and walks of life.

INTERNSHIPS IN WASHINGTON D.C.

D.C. internships will focus on policy work, scheduling and administrative support, and press relations. Applicants must be able to meet urgent deadlines, work autonomously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Washington, D.C. internship applications are available to undergraduate students, graduate students, and veterans enrolled in educational programs. 

We offer part-time internships in the Washington, D.C. office.

INTERNSHIPS IN PENNSYLVANIA

Pennsylvania internships are available in the Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and Pittsburgh offices.

These internships will include constituent service support, administrative work, community outreach, meeting and event participation, legislative research, and special projects. Ideal applicants should enjoy helping Pennsylvania residents, be able to work independently, and desire to become further involved in communities in the Commonwealth. Internships in Pennsylvania are available to undergraduate students.  

We offer internships in our Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Harrisburg, PA offices. We offer part-time internships in Pennsylvania.

Applicants with Pennsylvania ties are given priority. Senator Fetterman is proud to pay his interns in both Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.
